Join Mary Correa to learn the basics of slow stitching (or freehand embroidery). We will be creating a fabric postcard using fabric, trim and easy stitching patterns. No stitching experience necessary and all supplies are provided. Just don't forget your reading glasses, if you need them.

Have you heard about Gelli Plate printing and wondered what it was all about? Here's a chance for you to learn about this form of printmaking with award winning artist, Mary Correa. Join Mary for this workshop that starts with the basics and moves to more advanced techniques. She will show you how to build layers to create unique papers and fabrics for use in your art.

You will need your own gelli plate for this class. She recommends an 8 x 10, an apron and a brayer. She will supply everything else you need.

This comprehensive 6 hours workshop is $90 for members and $100 for non members. It will be April 20th from 9 - 3 at the Hamptons Golf and Country Club Clubhouse.

Want to see a fun way to use up those creative bits and bobs lying about? Love the idea of upcycling? This is the class for you! Come learn how to make a junk journal!

A junk journal is a handmade (upcycled, recycled) book made up with recycled items such as papers from magazines, brochures, patterned paper, music sheets, etc. You can use any fun paper bits you can find - it's a great way to get creative and use up your stash.

As part of our community outreach, we are proud to partner with Camp Fire. All proceeds from this Take Two will go to the Camp Fire Scholarship Fund to assist with programming fees. If you wish to make a further donation on the day of, they would be appreciated.

The Lakeland Arts Association invites you to attend our Basket Making Workshop on Monday, June 19th from 6 to 9pm.

The workshop is capped at 18 participants and will take place at the ART/ifacts Building located at 820 N. Massachusetts Ave in Lakeland.

Vicky Luffman will be offering a Felted Bowl Take Two workshop on May 20. Limited to 10 participants, this workshop will teach you felting basics and you will leave with a gorgeous felted vessel.

There is a magical quality to wool that you will discover in this workshop. You will learn the basics of structural felting using a “resist” template to create a small bowl or vase that is functional and beautiful. You will be provided with vibrant colors and some embellishments to create a surface design unique to you. All materials are provided, and no experience required for this introductory class to felting.

Heidi Wineland, jewelry artist, is offering a Beading Buffet! She will demonstrate basic beading techniques so you can create pieces during the workshop and beyond. This workshop will be self directed and you can pick beads and create pieces while Heidi guides you to completion. You can make multiple pieces during this workshop as time allows.
